About the Artist
Nanci has a BFA from the University of Oregon, and an MA/MFA from University of Iowa,, and has taught at colleges in Kentucky, Virginia, Maryland, and Colorado. When not painting or messing with other art materials, she might be gardening, or volunteering with the local hospice organization.About the Art
My current work is inspired by the fragility, movement and entanglement of layered twining forms. I love the experience of searching for the image in the layers of the work itself, and creating contradictory impulses - approaching and withdrawing -overlapping and pulling apart - density and ethereality - beauty and menace. All images are copyright the artist. No reproduction or use without permission.Drawings & small paintings for sale on this site….

Ultimately, we all end up in a 100 square foot room
I’m thinking about lots of things not directly related to painting these days. Most notably, my 90 year old mother who has been in a “health care center” -(when did this euphemism for nursing home appear?) for several months. At … Continue reading

facebooking in the new year
yup- I guess I waited a respectful amount of time to let the youngsters have their say, but then my daughter informed me (with a note of indulgent disdain) that everyone’s parents are doing it, so it seemed like the … Continue reading
